Now in its 8th year The Garden Show & Spring Festival became more successful as each year passes, both for visitors and exhibitors alike.

Almost 24,000 visitors attended the show.

With more exhibitors than ever before, the five days event, offered visitors the opportunity to create their perfect garden and transform Beirut and Lebanon into a dynamic and green paradise.

 

EVENTS HELD ALONGSIDE THE SHOW

 

Sculpture exhibition by Rudy Rahme. Born in Bcharre, north Lebanon, Rudy Rahme is the secretary of Gibran K. Gibran’s committee for culture, a founder and the President of Azamil al Alwaan Association, a member of the Lebanese sculptors & painters syndicate, a member of the Cedars forest committee and Daraj al fan association. A selection of his sculptures were displayed at the entrance of show.

 

DECO Magazine Exhibition A yearly exhibition especially organized for the event brings together many Lebanese designers. This year the theme was: Picnic in the Garden.  Participants: Julia Massaad, Karen Chekerdjian-Fattal, Sybille Tamer , D BOX Michèle Arida, Anabelle Kassar, Pascal Tarabey, Fady Salameh, Aurore Selwan, Maria Halios, Jean Marc Nahas, Wissem Nochi, Michel Abboud, Mona Bassili Sehnaoui, Omar Chehab, Karim Chaaya

 

Flower  Competition A flower competition organized yearly during the Show and opened to all florists and flower shops in Lebanon. The theme of this year competition was “Love is in the air”. Jury were Mrs. Nina Zeidan, head of landscape and planning department at LU, Mrs. Monika Fabian horticulture engineer at AUB, Mr. Marc el Beyrouthy lecturer -faculty of agricultural sciences , USEK and Mrs. Katia Nakhal, Interior Architec- ALBA. As for participants:  

Jardin de la sagesse who won the 1st prize, Lili White won the 2nd Prize, Rosa flowers won the 3rd Prize

And Bouquet, Fleur D’Art, Nuit de Rêve, Sona flowers, Terra flora, Aaras flowers, Rose dew, Cyclamen flowers

 

Play at Chateau Musar stand Tric Trac competitions were held at Musar stand. Winners enjoyed a bottle of Wine

 

Gardening tips with the Professionals experts were present all week long to give handy tips on how to make sure that your garden is your pride and joy, and the envy of your neighbors.

 

AFDC celebrated the International Year of Forests

Under the theme of Forests, AFDC presented its role in conserving Lebanon’s rich biodiversity, which is being threatened by climate change. Visitors discovered through an interactive game all the forests of Lebanon.

 

Handicrafts Workshops @ «Designers on the lawn» Visitor had the chance to learn some new techniques at these creative workshops.

 

Study @ the Garden Show This year four renowned universities: AUB, UL, USEK and ALBA were present at the show to present their landscaping programs and job-related opportunities

 

Food Court & Live music Ten different booths offered a plethora of choices in which visitor dine while enjoying live music performed by Music duo formed by singer Marie-Christine Zahar & keyboardist Isabelle Issahakian who celebrated their 20th anniversary of musical entertainment nationwide and abroad this year.

 

Kids Area This year, the kid’s corner was divided into two parts: A kid corner and a teen corner which included respectively workshops, cooking stations, puppet shows; dancing shows characters and competitive inflatable, street show and team games.
