The Garden show and spring festival concluded after 4 days of a great success. It was opened under the high patronage and the presence of Mrs. Nadia Aoun First Lady of Lebanon, Beirut Governor Mr. Ziad Chebib, Minister of Tourism Mr. Avedis Guidanian, Minister of Environment Mr. Fadi Jreissati, Minister of Energy Mrs. Nada Boustany and the Director General of Ministry of Agriculture and ex-minister Vrej Sabounjian, the Deputy Fouad Makhzoumi and other presidents of associations. The Garden Show & Spring Festival celebrated its opening on Wednesday 5 June 2019 at Beirut Hippodrome.

These four days have seen a wide range of flowers, plants, gardening equipment, balconies and handicraft furniture and welcomed more than 18,000 visitors. Visitors were given the opportunity to travel from more than 220 destinations and monitor the basic equipment of their gardens and balconies.

Events of the year

This year the garden show launched the voting for a creation of a rose called: Lebanon that will be revealed during the garden show 2020 at the occasion of the 100th birthday of the Republic of Lebanon. The public will vote during the four days events. The vote will be submitted to the French company DELBARD specialized in the creation of roses for them to create it.

Lot of workshops and sessions Took place with local experts, also Rudy Rahme exhibited his sculpture and Souk el Tayeb celebrated his 15th anniversary at the Garden Show.

Again this year, The Garden Show went zero waste. In collaboration with Cedar Environmental, all waste generated from all activities of the show were recycled. And also the ministry of environment with the Lebanon Reforestation initiative gathered more than 10 Lebanese reserves under one pavilion.

In parallel, The Garden Show & Spring Festival hosted for the sixth consecutive year Travel Lebanon, the first and only tourism event promoting domestic travel, activities, adventures and local traditions. More than 60 associations, tourism providers, ecotourism specialists, hotels, guesthouses and NGOs participated in the event. Visitors were able to watch local artisans in action, taste the traditional flavors of Lebanon.

A number of exciting masterclasses and workshops took place with gardening and lifestyle experts as well as a conference about sound and outdoor spaces.
Under the Dine for a Cause initiative and in collaboration with L’Academie Nationale de Cuisine, there were special dinners at the festival to support charities. A number of well-known chefs prepared special menus to raise funds for social associations: Les Restaurants du Coeur, Caritas.
